What ages is WhyWhy Kids for?
Designed for children roughly 3 to 12 years old, with content tiered by age across all activities.
Does my child need their own account?
No. A parent or guardian creates one family account and adds child profiles under it. Access to parent-only screens is protected by a parent PIN.
What data does WhyWhy Kids collect?
A parent account (email, name, encrypted password), basic child profile details (first name, age, avatar), the questions a child asks, and anonymized usage data for parental reports. See the Privacy Policy tab for full detail.
Is there advertising in the app?
No. WhyWhy Kids has no advertising and does not perform behavioral monitoring or targeted advertising to children.
What platforms will it be on?
iOS and Android. WhyWhy Kids is available on the App Store and Google Play.
How much will it cost?

Do the Why Lab experiments need adult supervision?
Yes. Experiments use common household items, but children should always have adult supervision when carrying them out.
WhyWhy ("we", "us", "our") is an educational parenting tool designed for families with kids ages 3 to 12, made by Bloomlabz Pvt Ltd. We are committed to protecting family privacy and comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023 (India), COPPA (USA), and other applicable global standards.
DPDPA 2023 compliance (India)
Under the DPDPA 2023, WhyWhy acts as a Data Fiduciary for the parent. This app is a parenting tool used under parental supervision.

Information we collect
- Parent account: email address, name, password (encrypted)
- Child profiles: first name, age, and avatar selection (no email or other personal identifiers)
- Questions asked by children (text only, processed to provide educational answers)
- Anonymized usage data for parental reports and product improvement
No behavioral monitoring or targeted ads
Per Section 9(3) of the DPDPA, we do not undertake behavioral monitoring of children or targeted advertising. All child-level activity is anonymized and aggregated into high-level reports for parents.
How we use information
- To provide age-appropriate educational content generated by AI
- To generate personalized stories and experiments
- To provide parents with insights into their child's curiosity trends
- To enforce screen time limits set by the parent
AI and data privacy
- No child data is used to train third-party AI models such as Google Gemini.
- All data is encrypted at rest and in transit via Supabase.
- Database access is protected by Row Level Security, API requests are authenticated and rate-limited, and AI prompts are sanitized before use.
- We do not collect precise geolocation, contact lists, or social media accounts for child profiles.
Your rights (access and erasure)
- Parents can edit or delete child profiles at any time
- Account deletion removes all family data permanently
- You have the right to withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

Safety

Intellectual property
AI-generated stories and illustrations are provided for personal use. You may not redistribute or sell content generated by the app. The WhyWhy name, logo, and design are the intellectual property of Bloomlabz Pvt Ltd.
Termination
- We may suspend accounts that violate these terms
- You may delete your account at any time from the app settings
- Upon termination, all your data will be permanently deleted
Limitation of liability
WhyWhy Kids is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the app, including but not limited to inaccuracies in AI-generated content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, India.
